The real change in your life is when you move from passive to active. Most people are in passive mode all the time. The more “active” you are, the more control of your life you have.
Passive Actions vs Active Actions
Listening. Watching. Reading. Waiting. Blame others.
These are all passive actions that take your responsibility from yourself and put in someone else. Only listening is not enough, you need to speak to share your opinions. If you only listen, others will impose their opinion and decisions on you.
You think you are learning while you are watching. But when you try to use that “knowledge” nothing works. You only learn how to ride a bicycle riding a bicycle.
Reading is the most effective way of learning something. You can read more about the text here Why should you prefer text/image over video/audio for learning?. However, you need to write it down to make sure you understand what you have read. If you can't write with your own words what you learned from reading, you don't learn it at all.
Most people wait for someone or something to happen. The first law of mechanics is Inertia, “every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force”. If you want something to happen in your life, you should make that change.
Blaming others for your bad results is easy, taking responsibility for your own mistakes is the only way to improve and be successful. Face reality and improve yourself.

Do not get a job, open a Startup.
Do not listen to a podcast, start your podcast.
Do not read a book, write your own.
Do not watch YouTube, record yourself.
Do not participate in an existing community, create your own community.
Do not listen to a talk, be a speaker.
Do not consume open source, open source your codebase.
Do not blame others for your failures, learn from them and improve.
Do not do a course, do, build, and practice.
